ER Coder

We are seeking an experienced ER Coder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in coding Emergency Room (ER) encounters.

Responsibilities include:

•Analyzing patient records, including medical history, procedures, and other documentation as needed to determine appropriate codes

•Reviewing claims for accuracy and completeness

•Coding ER cases using ICD-10 and other coding systems

•Maintaining knowledge of coding guidelines, regulations, and payer-specific guidelines

•Verifying and entering data into the electronic medical record (EMR)

•Resolving coding disputes with payers and other entities

•Performing quality assurance reviews of coding accuracy

•Providing coding training and education to other staff

•Staying up to date on coding changes and updates

Qualifications:

•Associate degree in Health Information Management or related field

•Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent certification

•At least two years of experience coding ER encounters

•Proficient in ICD-10 and other coding systems

•Strong knowledge of coding regulations and payer-specific guidelines

•Excellent organizational and communication skills

•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
