Job Title: Ambulatory Care Coder

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Ambulatory Care Coder to join our medical coding team. The Ambulatory Care Coder is responsible for coding medical documents and records for patients in an outpatient setting. The coder should be skilled in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding and know about other coding systems as needed. This position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately code medical documents and records using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems

• Interpret and apply coding guidelines and instructions

• Ensure all coding is compliant with applicable laws and regulations

• Review medical documentation to ensure the accuracy of coding

• Identify and resolve coding discrepancies

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding systems

• Communicate with other healthcare professionals and staff

• Participate in coding audits and reviews

• Assist in training new coding staff

• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• 3+ years of experience in medical coding

• Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems

• Knowledge of other coding systems as needed

• Strong attention to detail

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Ability to maintain the confidentiality of patient information
